Walken – A walking game….kinda
June 20, 2023I wanted to chat a minute about a mobile game I play and enjoy daily. The game is called WALKEN it has several cool features and is based completely on NFT’s.
When you start playing you have to set up your account and get into the game, doesn’t take much time at all. One important thing to remember is SAVE YOUR PASSPHRASE.
Once logged in and start playing you will get your first CAThlete. This is the character you will play with and level up until you get another. You first CAThlete isn’t an NFT yet, first you need to level it up.
How do you level up your CAThlete? You have to walk, whenever you walk and have your phone in hand or in your pocket like me you will gain steps, these steps earn you GEMS which are used along with WLKN to level your CAThlete.
How do you get WLKN? You get WLKN by competing in battles against other CAThlete owners, each win awards you with WLKN.
WLKN is a crypto-token used in the game and has a cash value if sold or purchased on a blockchain.
This is Brakort my first CAThlete. It started at level 1 and I’ve leveled it up to 5 so far. You notice it is wearing shorts. Believe it or not the shorts are also a NFT by itesef and I’ve equipped it on this CAThlete.
Once you reach a certain level your CAThlete becomes an NFT, it take some walking and battling but anyone can get there fairly quick with a little effort.
note: We don’t get to name the CAThlete, each has a unique name.
Over time as you play and enjoy the game you can earn enough WLKN to buy another CAThlete or if you want one sooner you can buy SOL (a crypto currency found easily with any marketplace) SOL can be used to purchase a CAThlete. As a side note you can also sell your CAThletes for SOL and turn your fuzzy friend into cash.

I’m sure you’ve noticed some are wearing clothes and some are not. As you play you can win and earn accessories to give your CAThlete boosts to their stats. Stats matter because that is how you win battles.

Each has stat boosts that make your CAThlete better when competing against other CAThletes.
Each accessory piece is an NFT and can be sold, traded or collected and used. You can buy them from the marketplace or earn them from completing quests and unlocking a jar. You can also acquire from lucky wheel spins.
Myself I bought the red shorts and purchased the hat and shirt from other players.
There is a lot of fun to be had by playing this game and believe it or not a few dollars can be earned if you choose to go that route. You can download through the app store of your choice and begin playing today. Why aren’t you doing it now?
