Now Together – Discord & Patreon
June 18, 2023I have been working to bring several elements of my project together, this step is setting up my Discord to work with Patreon to give a special role to those who support me and this project on Patreon.
After searching the internet and reading several pages on the subject I was able to make some great changes to discord.
From today forward everyone who is a Patreon and are also in my Discord will have a new role auto-assigned with their Patreon Subscription. We five new roles now in Discord, each matching the Subscription Tier chosen in Patreon. This role is given and taken by the Patreon Bot. This bot detects your subscription and adds you the that current tier role in Discord, if you change or cancel subscription you loose any previously assigned role.
Today I also recolored the Twitch Roles and grouped them so all Subscribers on Twitch are in a group based on their sub-tier.
Now, anyone logged in and online will appear in roles in my channel according to their subscription tiers on both Twitch and Patreon. These roles are under the admin and moderator roles and above everyone else in the channel.
These changes were done to show appreciation to those who show their support in what I am doing and aiming to do in the future.
