Application … ACCEPTED !
August 22, 2024I was thinking earlier this week about the photography publishing processes and how exactly someone gets their photography published. I found out there are several different processes and it all depends on who you are trying to get to publish your work.
After digging around through dozens of internet searches I stumbled onto getty images | iStock. This company offers a lot of publication potential and they do all the work. I decided to submit an application to become a non-exclusive contributor to getty images | iStock and they approved me to submit my work for possible publication.
Most of what getty images | iStock wants right now is video work, according to the contributors app I use to check and see who is looking for content and what they are looking for. The app is pretty cool, it has what are called “briefs” that are from customers asking for specific video and or photographic content. I like how briefs have a timeline/due date for submissions. This to me is awesome because I can focus on one this in a certain period of time and move to another when available.
I am excited about the possibilities that are ahead for my photography and my new work in videography. Overall I think this will be an amazing experience and great way to explore one outlet leading towards publishing.
